01About

Quiet capital,deliberate craft.

I'm Zee Qiang — a 19-year-old builder and investor from Bali, one of the most beautiful islands in the world. I've been teaching myself to build since the onset of the pandemic, and I haven't stopped since.

Today I'm a college student at a university in Bali, but the real curriculum happens after class: financial markets, compounding, and shipping software. I treat investing the way I treat code — with discipline, research and a long time horizon.

Away from the screen I edit with Adobe and Blender, and play piano, guitar and kalimba. Different instruments, the same idea: structure, patience, and a love of getting the details right.

02The Journey

From a student with a laptopto a builder and investor.

Not a list of titles — the actual path: the first lines of code, the first medal, the first trade, and the habits that tie them together.

2021

The Spark

A pandemic and endless curiosity

During the COVID-19 era, I discovered programming through the internet. What began as simple curiosity quickly became an obsession with understanding how software works and how ideas become products.

2022

The Craft

Learning by building

I moved beyond tutorials and started creating projects of my own. Every mistake became a lesson, and every finished project strengthened my confidence as a builder.

The Growth

Building real things

Programming became more than a hobby. I began creating larger projects, exploring UI/UX design, and learning how technology can solve real-world problems for real users.

The Markets

Discovering Bitcoin and crypto

In January 2024, I entered the cryptocurrency market. What initially started as an interest in digital assets evolved into a deeper study of economics, money, and long-term investing.

The Discipline

Learning the markets

I began actively trading in October 2024. Markets taught me lessons that coding could not: risk management, emotional control, patience, and the importance of having a repeatable process.

The Build

Compounding skills and capital

Today, I focus on combining technology, creativity, and financial literacy. From building products and contributing to school organizations to studying markets, every skill reinforces the others.

TRASH2PRINT
2023

Gold Medal — International

TRASH2PRINT

Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)

It was my first time presenting outside Bali. My family and friends tuned in to the YouTube livestream while my team and I defended TRASH2PRINT in front of an international panel. Standing there, far from home, pitching an idea we had built ourselves, was surreal.

The Competition
International innovation competition hosted at ITS, Surabaya, on 20 December 2023 — judged on originality, execution and real-world impact.
The Challenge
We were younger than most teams, working across school schedules with limited equipment, and had to translate a rough prototype into a convincing, demonstrable solution under time pressure.
The Lesson
Preparation beats nerves. Knowing the project end-to-end — the why, the how and the limits — let us answer hard questions with confidence instead of fear.
The Impact
Gold at the international level, and proof to myself that an idea from a self-taught student in Bali can compete on a global stage.

2022

Silver Medal — Robotics

2nd Place, Robotics Competition

Politeknik Negeri Bali (PNB)

This was where it all started. My first time on a competition stage, my first presentation, and the first time I felt the rush of building something that actually had to work in front of judges.

The Competition
Robotics competition held at Politeknik Negeri Bali (PNB), Bukit Jimbaran, judged on design, build quality and live performance.
The Challenge
We were complete beginners — learning the hardware, the logic and the presentation all at once, and debugging the robot right up to the moment we competed.
The Lesson
Start before you feel ready. The first attempt teaches more than months of preparing in the abstract.
The Impact
A Silver medal, a taste for competition, and the momentum that pushed me toward the international stage a year later.
Started Building
2021

The Beginning

Started Building

Self-directed

With the world on pause during COVID-19, I started learning to program on my own. JavaScript first, then TypeScript, React and Next.js — late nights, broken builds, and the addictive feeling of making something work.

The Competition
A personal milestone rather than a competition.
The Challenge
No formal CS classes back then — every concept was self-taught from documentation, videos and a lot of trial and error.
The Lesson
Consistency compounds. A little progress every day turns into skills you couldn't have imagined at the start.
The Impact
The foundation for every project, medal and idea that followed.

01Clay & Patience

Tennis

The long rally — won point by patient point.

There's nothing like the slide and grip of clay. Tennis is a study in patience under pressure: stay in the rally, move the opponent, and wait for the one ball you can punish. The same discipline that builds a portfolio wins a long match.
